Deaf Puppetry Cabaret
Step into a world where hands speak and shadows come alive in this vibrant three-part Deaf Puppetry Cabaret.
Robert Bhola reimagines the Trinidadian folktale The Hunter and Papa Bois through striking shadow puppetry, narrated by a groundbreaking Banraku-style signing puppet that tells the entire story using handshapes and shadow puppetry.
Theresa Upton shares a heartfelt farmyard memory in Treska and Curly the Bull, a warm and personal tale inspired by her childhood bond with a bull.
Andy Davies closes with Leaves, a playful and thoughtful reflection on friendship, life’s fleeting moments, and the little things that make magic everyday.
Together, these three distinct works celebrate Deaf artistry, visual storytelling, and the boundless creativity of puppetry and animated objects.
